Just to play devil's advocate: (I read this on a yahoo discussion board)...
"No, I don't think it is worth getting. You get a 1.6Ghz dual-processor with 2GB of memory and an 80GB harddrive.
The computer has: 1x USB port 0x ethernet port 0x CD/DVD drive (You can purchase it separately for $100) No user-replaceable battery No upgradeable anything, including memory
With the Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz dual-core processor 2GB of memory and 160GB drive
You also have: Several USB ports 1x Ethernet Port CD/DVD drive User-replaceable battery Memory is upgradeable
The difference in size? 5.4lbs and 1inch versus 3lbs and 0.75 inch thickness"
I don't really know that the air is THAT gorgeous. I mean it looks good, but functionality is compromised. There's no cd-drive, that's why its so thin. I need my cd-drive.

I am sure it is not prefect, yet, and Alex's observations are apt. But WOW what a look!
